Mission – Gather Material for Book Series

I’m visiting Philadelphia this weekend.  I’m starting work on a series of books for children, so am here to photograph the two children who are the main characters.  We’re visiting locations that will be in the books.  Today’s location was the Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University.  It was well worth seeing.  It’s quite large and will probably take a couple more trips.  One of the sections I especially enjoyed was a small display about Egyptian history.  I’m not a scholar or expert, but still enjoy the subject.  Here’s a photo of the mummy that was on display at the museum.

  1. This is going to be interesting. I hope we get to hear more about this series. 🙂

    • I think you’re right about that! We’re pretty excited about it. This weekend we story boarded the first book. It’s been a lot of fun doing the research on our theme for this book. We have some plans for it that are extraordinary. I’ve also spent time this weekend doing some sample illustrations. I hope to be able to share a couple of the rejected illustrations in the next couple of days.
