A bend in time

This is a photograph I took at a reenactment in Gettysburg.  While most people were there to see the battle, I was there for the story, for the whole story.  That meant observing not only the battle itself, but seeing the way soldiers lived at that time.  What happened between the battles.

Waiting has been many things to me over the years.  There have been times when I was helpless and could naught but wait.  I found it didn’t kill me after all.  Perhaps that’s when my endurance was stretched; when I found peace even when helpless.  Those few times changed me and maybe not for worse.  Where once I couldn’t bear to wait more than moments, I can now wait years.
