Home Is Where Your Story Begins

Those are the words on a piece of wood at the entrance to my studio.  Home is indeed where my story begins.  It doesn’t mean that every chapter is a page turner or that each one is sparkling and exciting.  My own story has adventure, mystery, comedy, and warmth, but it also has some tension and sadness.  The good thing is that they’re pretty mixed up together and the story overall is escalating slowly but surely into more adventure, mystery, comedy and warmth than tension and sadness.  I’m actually learning the warning signs of periods of tension and sadness and have found that I can lessen their impact by keeping the hope that more of the good stuff is on the way.
